What is Hyperlink?

By: Ejaz Alam | Topic: SEO

Hyperlink or link is a clickable word, text or image etc that takes you to the webpage towards which that hyperlink is pointing to.

Hyperlink is embedded in the source code of a webpage and at the backend it looks like: hyperlink Whereas at the front-end it may be of any shape. It can be an anchor text as above, simple naked link as http://this website/ or can be embedded in an image, icon or button.

Initially hyperlinks were given blue color, which was an indication that it is a link. However any color can be used for indicating a hyperlink. Google and other big sites still use blue color for indicating a hyperlink as it is recognized globally as a link.
